LeBonheur Children's Hospital- Memphis (2019-2020)

After much thought, and in consideration of the fragile health conditions of hospital patients, employees and families, She Will Lead has decided to cancel the environmental project at LeBeonheur Hospital, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic

The project's goal was to educate hospital patients and employees about environmental sustainability. Patients would have connected with their inner-creative genius to design a pot and plant their own flower while be instructed about the importance of conservation and recycling.

She Will Lead is eager for future community service projects to improve college campuses and the surrounding area!

Baptist Hospital Collierville (2018-2019)

The 2018-2019 school year marks the inaugural year of She Will Lead as a  501(c)(3) nonprofitWith over 75 members, the nonprofit intensified its connections with the community in search of a way to aid the greater Memphis-area. After a period of exploration, a great need for a relaxation space at Baptist Hospital Collierville was discovered. Additionally, after further exploration, the girls of She Will Lead learned that Baptist Hospital contained open spaces for renovation.

After much planning and preparation, the girls plans began implementation. From new flooring and cabinets to a new couch,  massage chair, and mini-water fall, the room underwent many structural and cosmetic changes. From paining a mural to furnishing the space with hand-made decorations, the space displayed the tireless efforts of the diverse women and girls of She Will Lead . After completion of the room, the women of She Will Lead presented the space to health care workers during an opening ceremony, and celebrated the work and impact accomplished through the team's altruism!

Madonna Learning Center (2017-2018)

Rebekah Lassiter, the founder and CEO of She Will Lead., completed She Will Lead's pilot project at Madonna Learning Center. After extensive experience and exposure working alongside the special needs community, from organizing proms, summer and spring festivals and tutoring students with special needs, Rebekah realized the need for a relaxation space. At times, when children and adults with special needs become overwhelmed or overstimulated, they seek a space to reset and relax; thus, the idea for the sensory room at Madonna Learning Center was born. After meeting with the Executive Director of Madonna Learning Center, many teachers, therapists, and staff members, Rebekah compiled both her field research and professional guidance to generate a space that would provide the students of Madonna Learning Center with a space to relaxBy using a storage space, Rebekah redesigned the space to incorporate the hallmarks of many sensory rooms: calming music, tactile educational tools, drawing boards to release emotions, and an overall aroma of respite. After completing the rewarding project at Madonna Learning Center, and returning on future occasions, Rebekah realized the tremendous impact women have in their communities. Thus, the idea for She Will Lead. was born!
